23rd May, 2016

MESTECH had a great presence at Europt[r]ode VIII, a biannual conference on optical chemical sensors and biosensors, which took place on March 20-23rd in Graz, Austria. PhD students Ivan Maguire and Gillian Duffy each had poster presentations on the development of optical sensors for toxin and nutrient detection in water.

Prof. Fiona Regan gave an excellent invited talk entitled ‘Development of optical sensor technology for environmental applications of nutrients, bacteria and algal toxins’ on the final day. Gillian Duffy also received an Analyst poster prize from the RSC for her poster.
