SmartOcean Research and Innovation Strategy survey

1st Sep, 2013

The SmartOcean group seeks to establish an Irish position for marine ICT development and enable future opportunities such as those that will emerge from Horizon 2020 to be strategically targeted in a global and EU context.

Input from a large number of stakeholders across research institutes, industry and state agencies is essential for the establishment of Ireland’s position and long-term goals for specialisation in marine ICT.

The survey consists of two short sets of questions:

1.  The first page consists of 20 short questions which aim to establish the profile of organisations in Ireland with an interest in marine ICT, the sectors they are focused on, their research areas, and their previous engagement in research and innovation projects.

2. The second page consists of 4 questions which aim to identify research gaps, market opportunities and infrastructure requirements.

Input from the community as a whole is essential in ensuring that the strategy and long-term vision adopted is reflective of opportunities along with current capabilities and requirements.

The SmartOcean consultation is closed as of September 2013 and the results will be presented at the SmartOcean Forum 2013 http://smartocean.org/
